tic tac toe! We have three girls in a row!!

Forget what I said about this baby being slothful! Obviously she was just building up momentum. Amy woke at 3 a.m. to light infrequent contractions, only to be swept away an hour later in a tsunami of intense and constant contractions. We got to the hospital at 5:04 a.m. and had a new baby girl 7 minutes later! She came out strong, restless, and hungry at 8 pounds 6 ounces, 21½ inches long, and three days before her scheduled due date. She is the biggest baby we’ve ever had! Both mama and baby are doing great. Drew, Binnie, and Ro can’t wait to meet their new little sister. Now for a name…

Life is full of surprises…

We asked the panel what their thoughts were with regard to a new sibling. We got a mixed response.

As the reality sunk in, the most important question remained: Boy or girl? Looks like the nail-biting will continue!

We tried to have a heart-to-heart with the chairwoman, but she quickly dropped the subject. Sorry Ro, your days as the baby are numbered!

The nitty gritty: 13 weeks, February 2010. Let the games begin. (again)

Amy’s birthday was on Tuesday. I wasn’t able to be there, but the kids, our families, friends, a florist, and I made sure that the wonder woman in our lives had her day… 

Drew loves fireworks, sparklers, and all things that go boom. So it’s no surprise that being delegated the duty of lighting the candles was more than a cheap thrill for him. Sweet blue tongue dude! 

He’s a true pyromaniac, just like his father. That’s what every responsible parent dreams of. Mmmmmhmmm. Just to be on the safe side, we hide the matches in some weird places around the house.

A special thanks goes to all of Amy’s friends who made her day special when I couldn’t. Never before has she had a birthday that tasted and smelled so good!
