rubber feet and baby chargers

Everyday 4 Comments »

Drew & Brinley have had a very exciting couple of weeks besides getting a new baby sister. At the beginning of last week Amy was walking marathon distances to bring on labor (and it worked!) but her feet were taking a lot of abuse. So to enable more walking Grandma J would give Amy a nice relaxing foot rub.  Drew and Brinley were not about to be left out of something cool like that! They immediately insisted Grandma J give them a “rubber feet” as well, which they enjoyed almost nightly till Grandma J went home.

A couple days after we brought Rowan home, Drew asked if he could charge his baby in the “baby charger.” If you think about it, it makes perfect sense.  We feed her, change her, love on her, and put her in the bouncer for a nap. Then she wakes up and the cycle repeats. She must be recharging her batteries, right? Thanks Drew for calling it like it is!

And, a bonus picture of Drew, er, Peter Pan. Apparently lactating is one of Peter Pan’s many superpowers…hmmmm. He doesn’t look to thrilled to have this moment captured, does he?

grandpa, grandmas, & motorcycles oh my!

Grandpa & Grandpa F rode over to our house on Saturday to see Rowan. Drew & Brinley were much more interested in checking out their motorcycles. They wanted to push all the buttons and flip all the switches, just like they like to do in the car when we’re not looking…

Looks like a dogpile on Grandpa and tickle his feet. AAAAAAAA!

Grandma J stayed with us last week, but sadly had to return home to go do something she called “work.” Hmm, never heard of it. We can’t thank her enough for all the help she was last week. Our pantry and fridge are stuffed to the gills!

We would like to officially welcome Rowan to Oscarstew. She’s had quite a busy week, so let’s review:

It appears that this princess is still trying to figure out what just happened! She was in a hurry and got a little banged up on the way out, which are all the red marks you see on her face.

Here she is minutes old, relaxed, tagged, and ready for all the excitement coming up next.

Kids these days. Not even 1 day old and already has her own ipod (hearing test).

She wasn’t happy about losing the ipod, and decided to tell Mommy all about it.

No, she’s not picking her nose. Aunt Kelsey was the only one who knew the gender of the baby – thanks for making us such a beautiful soft quilt!

She is gorgeous.

It’s a good thing she can’t walk, because all these nurses want to do is poke her in the foot!

The doctor wanted her to spend some time at the spa working on her tan (she had a little jaundice, blame it on Daddy).

This is the only tanning booth where it’s OK to fall asleep.

Not every girl can have cool shades like these.

Drew & Brinley stopped by to worship, er, check on how the tanning was going.

Drew MD, checking Daddy to make sure he’s doing OK.

In case you didn’t know, there are several “castles” in downtown Denver, and Drew & Brinley were sure to pick them all out.

Time to blow this ice cube stand. We’re going home – finally!
