CAUTION: For those with weak constitutions or who become ill at the sight of blood, viewer discretion is advised…

Today we were tooling around town getting errands done, and as a reward for good behavior we decided to stop at Sonic (during happy hour, of course) to enjoy some delicious treats.

Daddy went to “gently wipe” the excess ice cream from Drew’s face, and that’s when it happened: Drew lost his first tooth!

After the victim recovered from the shock, the evidence was recovered and displayed proudly. The jury is still out on whether Daddy will be forgiven of his crime. He claims that the tooth was already loose and that the plaintiff had been wiggling it for several days. We’ll see how generous the Tooth Fairy will be…

The very idea of making money off used teeth caused a handsome gap-tooth smile.

Being in close proximity to Drew caused much concern for Brinley. She went through various checks to verify she would not have to suffer through such trauma as well.

Or maybe she was jealous?

sidewalk paint

The days that are warm enough for outdoor craft activities are quickly disappearing, but we were able to squeeze in some driveway art classes. 1 part cornstarch + 1 part water + a few drops food coloring = cheap sidewalk paint.

Rowan was completely bored with the process, but the big kids enjoyed mixing up the recipe all by themselves.

ready, set, PAINT!

Many much stick figures, living together in harmony…

Crack shot. She’s totally outgrown these jeans, hence the über-crack, but I made her wear them because I don’t care if they get stained.

Rowan watched the kids as they changed the driveway from a boring slab of grey concrete to a high-definition mural. The chin bubbles must mean she approves.

Drew knows what to do when being shot. Nice cheese Scoob!

We thought this paint was better than the crayola brand. Just watch out – when the cornstarch dries it does make surfaces kinda slick. Drew has a fat-lip to prove it!

just me & the boy

Drew and I have a tradition. Every Tuesday after school we hightail it over to Sonic. It’s perfect because Brinley is at ballet and Rowan is usually sleeping in her carseat. We have a good 30 minutes to sit and hangout before it’s go-time again.

He eats, we look through his Tuesday Folder, check out the notes from his teacher and review his work from the last week.

Just me and him. That doesn’t happen very often these days.

And then it’s back to the rat race. Picking up Brinley, carpooling, homework, and dinner. The usual stuff.

I think it’s a nice break in the week for both of us.
