heart to heart

When I put Brinley to bed the other night, I noticed a funny lump on her chest. When I ask her about it, she promptly pulled out a heart shaped sponge that we had used earlier that day in a craft project. She told me it was her heart, and asked me if she could sleep with it.  I didn’t think there was any harm in letting her sleep with it. I figured it would be forgotten by morning anyway.

Wrong.

We had breakfast, goofed around and then I sent the kids upstairs to get dressed. Brinley came down and I could see the orange heart right through her shirt.

She pulls it out every once in a while, looks at it, and puts it back in her shirt. She is such a goofball…

grandpa, grandmas, & motorcycles oh my!

Grandpa & Grandpa F rode over to our house on Saturday to see Rowan. Drew & Brinley were much more interested in checking out their motorcycles. They wanted to push all the buttons and flip all the switches, just like they like to do in the car when we’re not looking…

Looks like a dogpile on Grandpa and tickle his feet. AAAAAAAA!

Grandma J stayed with us last week, but sadly had to return home to go do something she called “work.” Hmm, never heard of it. We can’t thank her enough for all the help she was last week. Our pantry and fridge are stuffed to the gills!

never, ever a dull moment

these two are quite the pair.

They were playing dress up this afternoon while I was was cleaning up. When they came downstairs I couldn’t help but giggle. Brinley was Cinderella (of course!) and Drew was Prince Charming. I was a little thrown off by the tiger ears, but hey – what do I know? Drew was also sporting a purple necklace and a floral purse, which he cleverly slung over his shoulder – because that makes it more manly, right? Brinley had her magic wand, which she calls her “maggot wand,” and a purse filled with all sorts of goodies, including a second purse. They said they were on their way to the airport…I wonder if they would make it through security?

Just so you can fully appreciate Brinley’s “up-do”…

My favorite part is the popsicle stained lips. I wish I could remember what it was like to be a kid, and be totally carefree. Good thing I have these two to remind me what life is really about…
