the best grandpa ever

Grandpa J was in town for a few days this week. He stayed with us, but spent most of his time up north helping Uncle Brett finish up some projects on his house. On Monday night he offered to take the kids & I out for ice cream. In the kids’ minds, there is only one place to get ice cream, and if you know D&B, you know where! The kids already adore their grandpa, and a special trip out for a Dilly Bar just takes the cake! They couldn’t put their shoes on fast enough. Drew was even generous enough to share a bite of his chocolate covered confection with Grandpa. A true testament of love!

One of the best things about Dilly Bars, is that after the ice-cream is gone, Oscar gets to munch on the left over popsicle stick. Mmmm…keeps his buck teeth from getting too long and scary!

I’m grateful for the time the kids get to spend with my Dad. He is such a great example of hard work and dedication, and I hope someday they will realize how stinkin’ lucky they are to be related to such an awesome guy. I know I am!

what do you get after a nice sunny day?

Colorado weather makes me crazy!

Yesterday the kids were in shorts, today they are in snowsuits. I am sure the kids enjoy the variety, me – I’d perfer much more mundane, predictable weather. Needless to say, we were stuck inside most of the day and I think we all suffered from cabin fever. We tried to get crafty and paint rocks(another story for later), but that didn’t last long. They suited up and played in the snow for a little while. The snow was really wet, and soaked through thier mittens pretty quickly, so that was a bust after 10 minutes.
