blooms for baby

While Grandma J was here, she took the kids to Home Depot to pick out some flowers for the front yard in honor of Rowan.

Brinley had a blast doing what she does best (getting dirty!)

Of course, pink flowers were the most appropriate choice!

Rowan supervised from her throne on the shady porch. She must have been happy with the offering, she never made so much as a peep.

The kids were thrilled with the end result, and now we have a sweet reminder of our newest blessing.

The kids cooled off in the shade with a popsicle. They think that frozen yogurt tubes are popsicles, ha! Hopefully they won’t wise up to our dirty little trick any time soon.

We were all feeling a little restless last weekend, so we took a drive up to the mountains. Is there anything more fun than throwing rocks in a river?

The water was pretty cold, but Drew was brave enough to walk around the shallow areas.

Brinley barely stuck her toes in, but managed to completely destroy this outfit. So much for hand-me-downs.

And just to prove that l’il miss sis was with us… She slept the whole time, only waking up for a quick snack before heading back to dreamland. Must be the soothing sounds of the water.

The kids had a blast, and we will definitely be heading back up the canyon for more fun once the water warms up. Next time Brinley will be dressed in rags or some sort of moonsuit that is Brinley-proof.

Rowan has been a little fussy today, so we dusted off the ‘ole swing, and wa-la, she was sawing logs (ok, more like filing twigs in her case) complete with her mouth gaping open for 2.5 hours.

As I walked by her room collecting laundry, I noticed that the kids dolls and stuffed animals had all migrated into her room, and were intently watching as she slept.

Drew & Brinley took every precaution to make sure their precious babies were seat-belted and buckled into their various seating devices correctly. Monkey see, monkey do.
