like a hurricane
Amy, Crafts, Family March 23rd, 2009She came, she ate, she sewed, she left.
It was awesome.
I’m happy to say that we completed every single one of the items on “the list.” Well, except one, and I’m still working on it. It’s a beast. Don’t ask me how it’s going.
Isn’t she purdy? She’s available too, any eligible suitors should forward all financial records and background checks to me. And then stand in line…Priority will be given to anyone who resides in Colorado and doesn’t mind having a needy sister-in-law for a neighbor. thankyouverymuch.
I’m pretty sure Kelsey is at home right now doing something like this. She needs to detox from the kids, the noise, the dumb sewing questions and the massive amounts of sugar and butter we consumed during the week. ha!
We worked diligently on this little guy. We actually made two of them – one for Kelsey and one for miss sassy pants Rowan. Kelsey will kill me for letting the zebra out of the bag, but she did say he is helping her sleep better through the night. It must be his piercing blue eyes and warm embrace. swoon!
Hopefully he will have the same effect on Rowan. soon!
We tried to channel our inner girl scout and make Thin Mints. They turned out more like Thick Mints, but they were still pretty tasty!
We also tried Samoas. Ryan said they were more like Tongans, they were a little larger in stature, but that didn’t affect the taste. They were pretty close to the real thing. mmmmm.
We finished this handbag just in time to welcome Spring. I can definitely see more of these in my future. Immediate future that is.
We ventured out to the Flea Market, and unfortunately, the only thing worth buying was fruit – of the exotic variety. cheap, cheap! It was a good excuse to cook up something fancy and pretend that pb&j isn’t a main staple of my diet.
I can honestly say that D&B were pretty much neglected the whole time. They were pretty good at fending for themselves; if we forgot to feed them they ever so kindly ask for a banana and a string cheese and went merrily on their way. If you want to know the whole truth, Brinley wore those pajamas for two days straight. They played outside most of the time; we threw them a bone once in a while….pretended to care, etc. You know… 🙂
Our granny panties eventually transformed into a super stylin’ shopping cart cover. Photo courtesy of my cell phone… Rowan is a big fan! And so is the kind lady in the background. We had to take it for a test drive before we stitched the main components down. The pattern was muy confuso. —-> I picked up some Spanish at the Flea Market. It wasn’t a total bust.
Kelsey & I must have taken our food photography a little too seriously. Drew made me this handy dandy little backdrop. It even has a spot marked out for circle cookies, and square cookies.
I guess he wasn’t permanently damaged by being ignored for a week.
She is a super woman! If I knew any eligible bachelors I would totally set her up. Nothing up here in Hailey, Idaho… sorry! I love the first two pictures of her. She is very cute.
Ok actually I think you need to move back to DV and be my neighbor so you can teach me how to make such awesome stuff! Love the purse- LOVE! The cookies look professional and I would love the recipes if they aren’t some family top secret thing. Your kids are so cute, I love how Drew always writes you things and tries to help out, adorable. Rowan is a little baby gap model, her smile is beautiful and Brinley looks like the funnest girl ever!
Sounds like you had a blast with Kelsey and that you got a ton done, what a fun week! I Love the handbag, it is so cute! Those somoas look yummy, you should post the recipe 🙂 Cute pictures of Kelsey too!
I love to read your blog. Girl, you are hysterical!!! What awesome stuff you guys made and sounds like you had a total blast!!! I love love the zebra…did it work on Rowan? Good luck there. The purse is entirely too cute – love it. Oh, and have I said that I love to read your blog!?!
Forget American Idol, you are officially my Crafting Idol! We are going to have to get together soon so that I can gleen from your sewing knowledge!
Okay, so I totally love you blog you are awesome! I love the handbag you made it is to cute. I would like the samoas recipe, those looked so good, maybe you could post it? You are like a super mom, always having something fun to do with your kids, I need to use you for ideas it seems like I never have any good ones.
Wow you girls are amazing. Need to learn how to make the shopping cart cover. Also I was wondering if that black and white background you used on your sisters pics, if it is a curtain? I am looking for that exact print for drapes in my living room.
Yum! Homemade girl scout cookies? Can I get the recipes? Sounds like fun!!!
