We had to buy a new bouncer this time around.  The one we used with D&B had seen better days. When we started putting together the fancy new bouncer, Drew & Brinley were all over it. Drew was just SURE that we were going to need a drill and a few other random tools he brought up from the basement. He is such a thinker…

Brinley jumped in and started “reading” the instructions. Pictures make it easy!

(Yes they both need haircuts. Dually noted. Must add to the “things to do before baby comes” list.)

Anyway, they were both pretty helpful. Ryan made sure to involve them in one way or another.

It looks like the kids did all the work, but really – who wants to see pictures of Ryan in his racecar jammies?! That’s what I thought…

The most exciting part was after it was all put together. Here we have Jade-Lola, Lucy, and Buzz taking the bouncer for a test drive. Hopefully they will give us the thumbs up. It would be hard for them not to give us the ok, seeing as how their thumbs are stuck up!

Item #8935 of “things to do before baby comes” – check. Whew…

flushies & swimsuits

kind of a random post. My goal with this blog was to post a photo-a-day, and well…that’s just too much work for this pregnant mama!  So here is a quick catch-up from last week, so we can stay on top of the exciting happenings this week…

First we have slushies, aka flushies. Mmmm…I love Sonic drinks. Every since they started “happy hour” we’ve been frequenting Sonic in the afternoons about once a week. I can get a gigantic cherry limeade and a slushie for the kids for under $2. Can’t beat that! The kids think it is such a treat, and I can usually get a few extra chores out of them. Ha!

Do they look overworked and underpaid to you?

Since they share a flushie, Brinley has become quite the super-sucker. She horks it down before passing the drink to Drew.

I think Drew had more fun lacing his fingers through the table, although it is evident that Brinley did allow him to have some of the flushie.

moving on… Grandma sent the kids schnazzy new swimsuits. It was too cold to play outside, and after relentless begging and pleading, I let them go “swimming” in the bathtub. Simple things for simple people…

I don’t know what’s up with Brinleys left arm. It looks a little scary…

this is the way we roll

when we walk to the park…

This picture cracks me up. I can clearly see why I have no friends. I must scare them away 🙂

Lets count the many ways that this photo is hilarious. First we have the guinea pig. On a leash. Being bribed to move forward by a dandelion. Then we have Drew, dressed head to toe in camo print, complete with matching green socks. He was SO proud of his outfit, and showed me twice how well it matched – how could I disagree? Technically it does “match,” right?  Did you notice that both kids have their shoes on the wrong feet? Super cool… Then we have Brinley pushing Jade-Lola (aka J-Lo) along. She even made sure to pack a diaper bag for her baby, such a good little momma. And we won’t even being to talk about who gets to babysit the guinea pig while the kids are playing at the park. Lucky me. That brings on a whole new level of coolness…

But you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Anyone want to join us next time?
