Maybe we had too much cake and ice cream. Maybe we partied just a little too hard. Maybe it’s just spring time and all kinds of bugs and germs are swarming about. Maybe.

Whatever the case, all of us got a variety of yuck during this last week. Drew had it worst, and therefore was the “lucky” one who got the real drugs. Doesn’t he look ecstatic?

We all spent a lot of time sleeping and trying to rest off all the hacking, wheezing, overall goober-ness. Edgar was Drew’s knight in red fur. Anytime we got close to check on the sleeping scoob the pig would grind his teeth on the bed as a method of intimidation. Terrified, aren’t you?

Or maybe he was just trying to deflect blame from giving us all his own version of swine flu. Say what?!

Hear ye, hear ye! Be it known to all royal subjects that her highness, the Princess has conquered her 4th birthday!

As the sun rose on her majesty’s kingdom, it was apparent that the birthday fairy had struck once again.

I’m excited for my birthday, but I wish you wouldn’t take my picture until after my royal bath. Off with your head!

I insist that on this universal holiday that even my hair must reflect my quad degrees of glory.

I am ready to grace the stake center (and my adoring fans) with my presence. Elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist…

The only cake worthy of a princess is one that describes the difficulties of princess life.

At least the pea was an M&M. We’ll take a closer look, just to see if we can get that royal smirk off her face. Hello, dolly!

One of the best activities during the pre-celebration is to adorn your own gifts with your blessed name, and artwork!

Now that we have the duties of the day finished, it is time for me to do what’s most important. Pinchy pinchy!

I received many gifts from my royal family. Too many you say? How dare you!

Behold a custom applique shirt, don’t you find it alarmingly cute!?

My goodness, it seems my halo has gotten larger. I command you to hold it up for me!

 At long last my chariot has arrived! No longer will that pesky peasant boy outrun me!

Yet another custom-made shirt and matching skirt to add to my vast wardrobe! Smashing! The best part is that it is a one-of-a-kind, of course!

Blast these infernal candles! Unless of course I get more wishes every time I snuff them out?

And as I commanded before, “Off with her head!” Good help is so hard to find these days…

Does your home look like the inside of a greenhouse? From the tales of Guinea Gardens past, Edgar can hardly contain himself! Mr. Pigglesworth was deep in the trenches with Drew as we planted Guinea Garden V 4.0.

Colorado’s freaky spring weather made it too cold to work on the garden outside.  If it weren’t for the obsessive compulsive mamarazzi the huge mess they made scooping dirt could have been contained in the garage.

Drew had a really hard time containing the micro-sized carrot seeds. If I stopped sweeping the floor, I’m certain we would have a crop of carrots growing under the table.

This carrot seed has been ever so gently pinched and is ready for placement in his new forever home.

And now the most exciting part…ready, set….DROP!

It’s a shame those pretty pink nails had to get marred by the black soil. Little zucchini seed, please grow and bring us the good stuff!

Until the seeds sprouted the only green in the house was this old rosemary bush. We started this one 3 years ago, back when we lived in our stinky third-story apartment, and it’s still going strong! Even after all the abuse…we like to walk by and pinch the leaves just to make the room smell good. mmmm…

We tried to get a head start on our herb garden this year. Mint grows fast, runs, and never stops. But it tastes so so so gooood.

Waiting for seedlings to pop out of the ground is more exciting than Christmas. What will they look like, how tall will they be? I can hardly contain myself with the tiny miracle that happens when a seed meets dirt+water.

Mmmm, basil. Just a little bit bigger and we will be up to our elbows in pesto.

Don’t be thrown off by the creepy chin hair, this isn’t furry basil. It’s oregano, coming up fast!

One thing I love about radishes is that they reach full maturity in 30 days. It’s exciting for the kids to see a seedling pop up in 2 days, and have a full grown radish just 4 weeks later.

If only radishes tasted better. They skip our plates and go right to the guinea pig. It’s a shame…
